Job summary
The job will be unpaid and full-time for six weeks from 17 June 2013 – 26 July 2013. The job holder
will assist the General Counsel and the Senior Legal Advisor in providing a full Legal Advice service
to the Charity. This will cover a wide range of activities including assisting with checking Commercial
Contracts, Licenses, Property transactions and Fundraising contracts; dealing with Data Protection
requests; dealing with legal aspects of Legacy donations; Intellectual Property; and other legal and
administrative tasks. The job holder will also accompany the Senior Legal Advisor to internal (and
some external) meetings.
Travelling and subsistence expenses will be paid.

Person Specification
1. The holder of an honours degree (2:2 or above) in any discipline and having completed, or
about to embark on, the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or Legal Practice Course
(LPC).
2. Able to apply a high level of intellectual rigour and resourcefulness to a wide range of
complex legal issues.
3. Able to work effectively within the Company Secretary department.
4. Recognition of the Nolan seven principles of public life; selflessness, integrity, objectivity,
accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
